Hello,
need the help from knowledge members. I think it's a kindjal but the blade look a little bit strange to my eyes and I think it's not extremly old but it look also not like a "tourist" dagger. Is someone able to enlighten me? I have only this picture, sorry. Thank you in advance, Detlef |

THEY STILL MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN AFGHANASTAN IN VARYING QUALITIES. THEY STILL USE THEM LOCALLY BUT TROOPS DO BRING THEM BACK AS SOUVINEERS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THEY CALL THEM THERE BUT IT MAY NOT BE KINDJAL AT ANY RATE I DON'T THINK IT IS A RUSSIAN KINDJAL. BUT I COULD BE WRONG

Hello Barry,
thank you very much! I know nothing about kindjals but think that the blades have normally a fuller which this blade don't have so I am unsure and let me ask. On the other hand this dagger don't look like a tourist piece of any sort and the blade seems good worked. I really would like to know more about this piece and hope that someone will be able to tell me more. Regards, Detlef |
