Hi all, the keris blade looks like a Patani Carita blade with an unusual sogokan
looking fullers. It has the sogokan depan only but can the other fuller attribute this to a Carita? Can anyone assist in identifying the blade type, dapur and any other details would be appreciated. ![]() Keris Patani? ![]() The profile of the base area... ![]() A closer shot of the base area... ![]() |

Hi Shahrial. I thought that with the carita the fullers extended the length of the blade, though i must admit i know less about peninsula blades than i'd like. Nice keris though, i like it.

David, the standard carita does extend to the end of the hilt, afaik.
I'm just suggesting, I'm not sure myself. No dress for this one. It came with a balinese bebondolan hilt. That's about it. I don't think it Balinese, though. ![]() |

This blade is probably Kelantanese, from the style of the greneng and the fullers, which are highly unusual.

The sari bulan sheath is one of the most beautifully done example that I have seen. The way the daun-daun (the 2 tips of the sheath) curves out and then back in, before stretching out to form the caping (the point in the top-middle part of the sheath) can be described as almost 'sensuous'.

And of course, the floral motif hilt, pendoko and blade are all first rate too!

Thank you both, Kai Wee and David.
![]() Blu, you make the sheath sounds 'sexy'... ![]() I like it very much too. The more I look at it, the more I like it. ![]() But I stll don't know much about the blade... Perhaps in time, I would identify it accordingly. |

You mean you don't find it 'sexy' with all those killer curves?
