This cannon is with a beautiful aged patina., in. on a hinged swivel, on his original wooden stand .I would appreciate if a member could give me the translation for the cartouche riveted on top of the breech.
Overall 148 cm weight Circa 51 kg , 30 mm calibre. Any comment about exact origin and period will be welcome. Best Cerjak |

One problem is that one of our best Arabic translators died a while back.
The other problem is that this might not be Arabic but Jawi, Arabic script modified to one of the Indonesian or Philippine languages. The only person who can help with some Jawi is Oliver, and he is crazy busy until June (?). A final problem is that part of the inscription is missing. Please have some patience with us. ![]() |

Just a thought. I have seen a very similar example that was definitively from Thailand. I know nothing of the script, but the decoration looks very like the Thai example, and quite different than ones from the Philippines.
