Just got this silver hilted gunong this weekend. The hilt and scabbard mounts are silver, and the blade may be laminated, but it is not showing much if it is.
What do you think "Tito Gunong?" ![]() Enjoy! |

Wow. I've never even seen a picture of a silver hilt. Figures that you of all people, would come up with one. With your love of silver, it's just right that you should own it. That's just superb!
With the hilt shape, I'm thinking that it's fairly old. What do you think? Congratulations my friend! Steve |

The thing that throws me is the smallness of the whole piece. During the 1920s and one they got bigger since blades were outlawed for Moros (too deadly in their hands). Could this be even earlier therefore? Not sure yet. |

I was doing a little more research and thought and I now would move the date of this piece back to the turn of the century. I base this on the hilt style and the diminutive nature of the piece.
