I am selling this old warrior.
The wooden grip misses a small part. The blade is intact … showing some oxidation but absolutely no penetrated rust. Hilt and blade tip are the original pattern, having not being submitted to modifications. Sword by I GILL and scabbard by OSBORNE & GUNBY are probably a field or a post battle mismatch, occurred in the Peninsular war. One peculiar thing, this sword still preserves its original leather knot, which practically never happens; broken in two parts, due to its stiffness, and later glued … but still exists. Amazingly we can discern some fade inscription in it, certainly belonging to its user or regiment. I am asking $580 (420€) for this thing … shipment included. Fernando . |
