Just ended on ebay, I know nothing about these, I collect mostly Moro and Khuks, but always wanted one, price seemed reasonable. What do you think? Did I geta good one?

Youth swords that I came across are about 20 inches long so this could one made for a shorter than normal adult?

Perhaps, the tip was previously damaged, shortened and re-worked ? The scabbard fits ....a replacement? My understanding is that replacement scabbards were common due to climatic conditions. Re-hilts also common due to the same reasons.
The blade looks to be local rather than European. If the fullers are forged rather than ground, it usually indicates the blade is older. All the best David |

Thanks guys. I saw the mention of the tip issue's in the description and the photo alludes to something. I did not know the length these should be. I'll let you know when it arrives. The scabbard looks nicely done.
