Achenese 'Roedoïh' & 'Tjot Jang' / silver & suasa

I take it that one is a Roedoïh & the other a Tjot Jang.
To my untrained eyes they look the same. Can you please point out the differences. I like the octagonal suasa ferrule. Thanks for sharing |

Both sides of the Roedoïh (rudus) are partly hollow grounded, which is resulting that there are clearly ribs visible along the spine and cutting edge. Along the spine, there is always a shallow groove.
The Tjot jang (Cojang) has no grooves and no 'swollen' ribs along the sides of the blade. (Partially translated from the text written by P. Vermeiren, about the Christoffel collection) Last edited by Maurice; Today at 08:47 PM. |
