I met Empu Mangku Wije in about 1984. At that time he was already a very elderly man and had made something like half a dozen keris during his lifetime, his major production was small ceremonial axes.
About 6 or 7 years ago I met another empu who lived near Ubud, I've got a note of his name and record of the conversation, but I've forgotten his name; when I get a chance I'll check my records.
I have heard of another pandai who lives near Sanur and who is in current production, but I have not met him.
I have also heard of several pandai who carve keris, but who order the bakalan from outside Bali, possibly from Madura, but not necessarily so.
