This is exactly what I mentioned earlier in response to your inquiry about another kindjal.
This one is from Guria, the very South of Georgia. Wide blade, square massive handle with a square pommel, and remnants of steel cladding on the scabbard. Regretfully, most of the cladding is gone ( leather is replaceable, of course).
Age? Who knows.... They were making those from the early 19th ( at least!) to the early 20th century. In the absence of dating info ( inscription, stamp) I cannot say much.
Pity Rivkin is not dropping by any more. He is sorely missed.He knows orders of magnitude more about such things than I do.
