One (last) thing i could have done, but didn't occur until couple days ago: to
restore my computer for an earlier date.
It worked
.
I am not receiving notifications on prior subscriptions, but the configuration is reestablished and, the threads i subscribe (or re-subscribe) from then, are dropping email notifications.
So the whitch-craft is dismantled
