With it being made out of D2 tool steel, as a functional sword I'm imagining it will be leaning a little more on the heavy side. Might hold a pretty good edge if you were to bang with it, although I hear the verdict on high edge retention with D2 tool steel is still out.

Curious... I've also heard you can't really create a hamon line with D2 Steel but the auction photos seem to show what appears to be a hamon line. So what is up with that? If so, the temper seems to taper off leading to the point rather than showing a full hardening of the point. However, who's to say for sure unless we ask the guy who forged it.

When you get it in your hands, I would be interested to know how wields. If it actually feels like a nice sword to hold. That is, as long as you don't lose your hands from the curse.
