This is a loose parallel to a thread in the keris forum: Is anyone aware of the spiritual practices of Sulu or the greater Philippines regarding the manufacture of blades? In Indonesia, I know that smiths have a whole ritual practice of creating and giving spirit to a keris, and was curious about Sulu and Philippine practices, if similar ritual is observed. Along with this, has anyone heard folklore or other tales regarding Kris, etc. (in Sulu or Philippines) having spirits associated with them?
