Hi BerberDagger!

I imagine this would be supposed to be a high-end koummiya, what with the silver fittings...The question is whether it is silver or something else. There are some people on this forum with great knowledge about silverwork and they could probably tell whether this is high quality authentic work or tourist junk. To me, it looks like the "repousse" work is done by hand, somewhat crudely. Were the thing mass-produced, the mechanical stamp would have had smoother lines I think. The question is also how thick this silver is?
Lastly, what is the blade like? Again, if it is thick, it may be a legitimate weapon. If the blade is thin and bends or deforms easily I would leave it.
I do wonder what a true high-end silver-clad koummiya looks like...these weapons do deserve a comprehensive study I think...or I have to find the right book.

Those are my amateur observations though.
