Alright, you guys! You're getting my 'sea blood' all boiling again! Incredible cutlass, CC, and it's rare context and form does indeed (as Jim said) fill in another corner of the esoteric puzzle concerning maritime history. That boarding axe is another killer piece!

Thanks, Jim, for including that fantastic battle between the two South American vessels and this period in that corridor of the world was still alive with action, boarding, privateering, etc. This was the latter-period of Lord Thomas Cochran and the collapse of the old Spanish Empire throughout the South American continent.
