Excellent and MOST esoteric! It seems there was far more cross diffusion of British and French blades than realized in these times, as if the Napoleonic campaigns were not confusing enough!!
Clearly the regard for British blades brought about by Gill must have expanded to other French examples of these sabers, as I noted another with Osborn blade.

I am still seeking the article I had with British heavy cavalry swords M1796 with Klingenthal blades, which seemed bizarre.
