"AXES AND MACES IN THE CENTRAL ASIAN KHANATES DURING THE 19th AND EARLY 20th CENTURY: WEAPONS AND SYMBOLS OF POWER"

This article examines the varieties of axes and maces that existed in the khanates of Central Asia in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
It provides a typology for these short-range weapons and a description of their use in combat based on historical sources.
In addition, special attention is given to the role that axes and maces
played pertaining to status and their significance in the khanates as symbols of power.
