Hertbert Ward 1863 - 1919 explorer, writer, sculptor and collector.
The photos were taken in 1910/1911 in his "studio" in Paris.
His collection was given to the Smithsonian Institution by his wife in 1921 (2714 items).A big exposition/installation was made from 1922 until 1961.
