The kabeala is still in use on Sumba, special by the Pasola celebration. You really need to look to the patination of your sword. But don't worry, also the more recent ones are still worked in traditional manner and IMHO worthy ethnograhic weapons. They pop up time by time by ebay. I think that your one was in use.
Attached a picture of my small Sumba display, like you see I still miss a West Sumba sword!
