Many thanks for your kind comments, though I never intended to post pics of the entire sword.
The wootz blade is, indeed, the ladder pattern,
kirk nurduban, and the pattern is very clear on both sides.
The blade is rather large at 35 inches across the curvature.
I am still hoping for some input on the hilt strap.
