Here is a picture of a dagger in my collection, similar in shape and size and with the diamond blade cross section. My dagger is reportedly from the Batangas region of the Philippines, dating from the revolutionary period 1898-1902. While rank and file members of the revolutionary organization called
Katipunan carried a bolo tabak (a type of machete), higher ranking officers carried daggers made in the european style. This dagger is 14 inches overall, blade 9 ½ inches. The guard and end cap are brass and the hilt, made of turned damaging or carabao horn, is inlaid with twisted brass wire.
