Thanks Jean. Yes a similar( and lovely) hilt, but the size is much smaller than on that Balinese keris. It's easy to tell by the way it sits on the mendek.

I would love there to some swassa on the mounts, but I'm afraid it's just a silver alloy with lots of copper. It's really hard to see in the pics, even in holding it...

Here is a very nice example of a Moro bangkung style bladed mounted with a fine more Visayan style hilt. The hilt's pommel is inset with matching Spanish colonial era coins. There is no scabbard....

Nice and Unusual Moro Kriss For Sale

This is a fine old 19th century Moro kriss with a lovely "split" ball pommel from two carved pieces. The blade is in good condition.

NOTE: I do not believe the scabbard was "born with" the sword,...
