With pleasure!
The proportions of the knives are not respected, sorry. The second one is very long and narrow ( sorry, I don't have the measurements here, but it is easy to compare), when the first...

shape of the blades
I don't think the brave Paiwan man owner of this knife would have been excommunicated because the shape of his blade was round sharpened. There are rules and exceptions, little chance for dogma. In...

some Paiwan swords
I am pleased to show the last Paiwan knife I purchased. The metal work on the sheath is different from the two others I own and I enjoy these different ways to represent the heads they valued as they...

atayal versus Pingpu
Pity that you did not sell your Pingpu knives to me! This, above, is the only knife of this shape I have.
The same shape do exist for Pingpu, you are right.

This is an Atayal knife, not a pingpu knife! (Please check the informations Yuanzhumin gave about cooked aborigenes)

Saisiat knives
Sorry Nicolas, I don't know very much about Saisiat knives. They are possibly similar to Atayal knives. I don't remember having seen any in the published collections.
You are very generous; my...

Yi People of Sechuan
As this sword was described as "a rare and distinctive sword of the Yi People of Sichuan, formerly known as the Luoluo", does anyone know if the Yi have swords and how they are looking like? ...

ritual Paiwan knife
May I share the picture of a recent purchase. It is 47 cm long. Slightly different from yuanzhumin's examples of the Tenri collection and the Shunye Museum of Aboriginal art.

price
I don't think you should take these as a price example; they were largely overpaid as I explain the context of the auction. Museum quality might not even be that price specially for first half of the...

pictures and prices
I don't think that these knives were the best quality one could find. The context of the auction sale made high prices and these knives were absolutely overpaid. Once a year, ethnological auctions...
