The handle has either been damaged or replaced. The original handle may have been a better match with that sheath.

That could be part of the tang, the piened portion may have broken off and someone tried to repair it with solder. Is the handle loose enough to be taken apart, so you can see what is actually going...

That stinks, can you post some additional photos of the damage and of the tang. It looks like there is some kind of marking there but it is hard to make out.

Sword Prop/Decorator item/????

This appears to be a solid one piece steel or iron casting. The sword-like-thing is 32 inches long and the blade is approximately 5/16" thick at the hilt. The whole thing weighs about 3-3/4 lbs....

This looks like a late 19th century bolo to me. There is something about the handle treatment that looks familiar. The OAL is 16 inches, and I guess its origins may be anywhere along the Spanish...

That is a nice example; you did well. I find the styling and workmanship on these to be very consistent. They were likely all made by the same school of craftmen in Kandy, Ceylon. Welcome...
