The white horn is beautifull. and quite rare I guess on this type of weapon.

It coud be that the foot of the scabbard is missing. But overall it looks like an untouched example. ...

Yes, a later replacement.

The floral decoration on the ferrule is not Atjeh, nor is the hilt.
It looks also oversized. a picture of the complete weapon will give a better view on the size.

1900 RENCONG RENTJONG GROOVED HORN HILT

Old pre 1900 Rencong with a beautifull grooved buffalo horn hilt.

Original scabbard with perfect fit.

scabbard has a crack in the back near the scabbard mouth which has been glued in the past /...
