The patina looks alright too.
The picture of the scabbard is a bit difficult to judge due to the reflection on the brass....

The connection between hilt and crown looks ok on this picture.
But the connection between crown and blade is not very smooth...

I think it must have had a metal collar. This because the hilt is tappering towards the blade. wire would slip of eventually.

Nice carving on the handle. start to appreciate this type of weapon...

On picture nr. 3 it indeed looks like there is a "wood pattern".
But horn also has these lengthwise structures.

I think the horn is heated and bent in order to make a fitting piece for this type...
