Hi Vandoo,
From the photo's , my best guess-timate is that this weapon comes from the Marshall Islands, or perhaps Hawaii. This type of toothed club (for want of a better word), I know to have...

European (?) Sidearm ID help please!
Greetings all,
I recently purchased this short sword which appears to be a continental sidearm from about the mid 1800's. I'm struggling to find a definitive reference to identify it's country...

This blade still intrigues me, and I'd love to know it's precise archaeological context. Stratigraphy is crucial to dating this piece I think, as the land has more than likely been subject to human...

Greetings Fernando,
The blade shape and profile reminded me of a blade I'd seen some time ago, but a modern military knife. I can't help thinking that the blade shape may be historically featured...

I think this is a 'Fid' for sailmaking/ net repairing/ ropework etc. used by sailors. Marlinspikes and fids varied in size from a few inches to a foot long, so it's definately within the size range.
