Klewang modified to bayonet. Non-standard
I thought I would add a couple of interesting items to this thread. This is a version of the Klewang bayonet that I have never seen before. Numbered 47 on the guard and rear of the hilt. There...

Hessian plug bayonet
I see no reason to think the blade was put with the handle later. It certainly appears to be untouched peening. The age of the blade and the hilt matchup nicely with other known examples. While I...

RM marking
IMO, the marking is from the 1870s. This is the style marking commonly seen stamped on Remington Rolling blocks of that era that went to Mexico. Cool sword.

folding bayonet
My mention of Italy was not because Italy made some folding bayonets many years later. Several countries experimented with folding bayonets. But the similarity to some Italian folding knives. This...

folding bayonet
I'm sure it is a one off hunting piece. Certainly not military. I was hoping the characteristics of the folding knife might point to the country of origin.
The plug might be designed to fit...

Folding bayonet
I didn't want to clutter up Fernando's thread on Navalhas. So started another thread for this. Can anyone tell the country of origin for this folding knife? Is it a Navaja, Navalhas, or perhaps...

Toledo Plug bayonet
Here is a very similar example from my collection. In this example they opted for some fancier options. But the basic form is the same. Look at the shape of the main body of the cross guard and...

Saxon plug bayonet
I've collected plug bayonets for decades. Owning around 200 of them over the years. If you look in Roger Evan's book, The Plug Bayonet, a fair number of them are from my collection. This bayonet...

Saxon plug bayonet
Unfortunately, this is a Spanish plug bayonet made in Toledo ca. 1850-70. The "Saxon" etching and maker mark have been added by someone to increase the value.

Possible Guild Axe
Thank you for your reply. Interesting guild axe in the link. I've found a few others that were quite similar. Was a guild axe a badge of office for a guild leader?

Bearded Axe with Trefoil pierced blade
This is outside of my usual area of collecting. Can anyone give me information about it? Does anyone recognize the maker mark on the bottom of the poll? The was reportedly found on the Rhine near...

Austrian rifle
I agree that a shooting association is likely. But it is based on the M1842 Jager rifle, rather than the Lorenz. Note the Laukart style of spring catch for the sword/socket bayonet that was only...

suhl Hen marking
It is on a bayonet. Very unusual in style and having the remains of a spring catch that looks similar to the much later Khyl spring catch. No guessing game was intended. I was hoping to get some...

Suhl Hen Mark
I will definitely post the whole piece later. I would like some opinions about the date of the mark first though. I'm afraid posting the whole piece will change the comments.
