This is definitely a “Down home” piece. As Crocodile Dundee would say, “This is a noife!” Slight distal taper at the point. Heavy blade.

it looks like it has some wear on the handle. it might very well be old. If it is, it’s rare.

A little less than a quarter of an inch thick at the spine. The tang is peened over what looks like a washer. I suspect old American too.

truth

Ustad Ali Akbar Khan said: “ truth is not something to be thrown around, like dung, but must be used sparingly.“ So I understand what you’re saying.

multimillion dollar fake

it might be out of line, but I’d love to know what you saw recently… That was a multimillion dollar bit of ‘shonkery’.

In any aspect of art, there is both “knowing“ and “feeling “. and dealing with such things as “Tosan Aji” is clearly a blend of both. Thank you for your reply.

You used the word “Thread”. I feel that this word, as you use it, is huge. Is there a place where I can get info on this ‘thread’?

You’ve seen the Keris with Petruk, and very fine ‘sungginan’ that...

here’s the finest one I’ve seen.

i’m not showing the rest of the Keris, because it’s very personal. I actually found it in a pawnshop. I have reason to believe it may have been made for an artist. It’s extremely fine. I had dreams...
