I can attest that this is indeed one fabulous collection well worth the visit.
Also, if you speak Italian, or have good Italian friends, if possible let them know you are arriving with a particular interest in weaponry, and speak directly with the resident craftsmen if possible. I had the memorable joy some years ago of a private visit through the collection and handling many originals in their basement collection that were not on public display, as well as display pieces. Outstanding! |

That special experience of yours actually is outstanding - I envy you. I must admit that Italian is not among the languages that I have sufficient command of. I can read it quite well (Latin gives many good clues here) but am far from speaking it. I have, however, experienced the same extraordinary kindness like you with various museums that I have been to. Of course, I had made contacts before. Michael |
