Right, companero,
That royal guy sure had an exquisite taste ... As a sample of his taste I attach photos of the earliest and finest known flintlock gun in the world which was made for the prince by a member of the le Bourgeoys family in Lisieux in about 1615-20. It came from the famous William Goodwin Renwick Collection, Tucson, Arizona, who had purchased it directly from the Hermitage Museum St. Petersburg, Russia, during the big depression in the 1920's, and was sold posthumously Sotheby's London, Nov 21st, 1972. It has been on display at the Met, N.Y., ever since. Michael |
Ah, you can tell that Met museum curator that, if they ever feel 'depressed' with it, i will be glad to relief it from them ;) .
Will even care to have a cabinet made for keeping it  . Fernando |
Michael,
And yet another magnificent posting - Thank you for sharing. Cheers Chris |
