New Ivory Hilt - Donoriko?

6 Attachment(s)
Just recently acquired newly made Madura type ivory hilt. From my understanding, Madura hilts has many variations, not as specific as Jogja or Surakarta type - may be according to each maker design or style?

Pictures attached, are they Donoriko style? Kembangan? (flower?)

Thanks in advance.

The are many variations on this theme but yes I would call this Donoriko.

Here two examples from my own collection, both antique ivory.

The first is a full floral version and the second a floral version also with Kuda Panoleh like yours.

The first is one of the best carved hilts in my small collection I think.

Nice hilts. Rasjid, do you know what the source of the ivory is for newly made hilts such as this?

New Ivory Donoriko

Thank you.

David, It's elephant ivory, the ivory was owned by a collector years ago but recently sold to my source and he carved it for me.

regards,
rasjid
