To send out antiques from Bulgaria
 

I think there are one or more Bulgarians like TVV as far as I remember in the forum. Can you please help me if you have information? Is to export antiques abroad by mail free in Bulgaria?? Especially Ottoman antiques, plus edged weapons. If archeological ones ,or any Bulgarian ethnographically important artifacts are forbidden , no problem . Are Turkish antiques and weapons free?

Did we not have a discussion about circumventing national laws concerning surreptitious removal of antiquities from one country to another ?

Against forum rules and policy I'm afraid .

My appologies, I probably did not express myslef correctly in my previous post. I was not suggesting anything illegal, as I mentioned the existing law is open to interpretation and one can make a pretty strong legal case that exporting a yataghan out of Bulgaria, for example, is perfectly legal. Unfortunately, Bulgarian customs and post officials are not experts in antique arms, but just corrupt and stubborn individuals (for the vast majority). Dealing with them can be an extreme pain even when everything is absolutely legal, and it is this exact trouble that I was warning a fellow collector to avoid.
Believe me, I am a Bulgarian citizen, and the last thing I would do is to support the illicit export of national treasures out of my country. If this post still violates forum policies, my sincerest appologies again: please delete it and close the thread as well.

I'd really rather not close the thread as there has been a lot of comment of late about arbitrary actions by the Staff here .

I'd suggest that the laws of the nation in question should be explored first for a definite answer to the questions posed .
Lacking that knowledge one should probably not comment publicly at all on the subject .

That being said why not just let this thread fade away . ;)

Any more comments on circumvention of national antiquities laws will be cause for deletion or closing of this thread .
