Very nice sword. I don't agree with the dating. More like 1940-60. I could see someone bidding over $300 for it but not much more. Guess it appealed to at least a couple of people.

as far as why it's so expensive; maybe it was a missing piece in that person's collection, or just what rick said, lol

As always, the seller's photographs are ridiculously good. Frankly, I've never seen better. Only inexperience would prevent a buyer from making an informed decision. :shrug:

Um...did anyone notice that the reserve was not met so the only sucker in this case is the seller as he still owns this wonderful "19th century" sword. :rolleyes:
