Two Naga Swords

I saw a picture/post on this forum about swords that looked like these, but can not find it again. Perhaps someone could post a link?

Both have bronze handles. One has some kind of coating that I am reluctant to remove. The rust only showed up in my high intensity studio flash units. Need to do some rust removing.

Blades are hexagonal at the handle and over 1/2" thick.

The one with the hair (goat?) is 16" long, the other one is 17 1/2". The basket came with them, but not sure it was originally a scabbard.

Opinions?

Thanks, denee!

I guess that the basket may be a real scabbard. Also agree that these are very uncomfortable to hold. But I have large hands. My wife, Anne can easily hold it in the "Tulwar style," with one finger outside the front of the guard on the false edge of the blade.

Bill, those are really cool. The first of that type I've seen. Thanks for sharing!

Bill,
If you have a look at the link provided by Denee you can see the remains of the scabbard that belongs to my smaller one. The basket work appears very similar to yours, even down to the decorative "gap".

Nice to see some more of these.

regards
Royston
