Another Tulwar for comment

This is the other Tulwar which came with the Tulwar/Dha combination already posted. Both were picked up in a Paris flea market in the 1950s.
This one is fairly standard other than the fact that it has 3 identical incised patterns on one side of the blade, which I have not seen before. These are evenly spaced along the blade length. To me (who knows nothing about these swords) eveything else seems usual. What can you tell me. Regards Stuart :) |
Hi Stuart,
the marking is commonly known as the 'eyelash' mark http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...hlight=eyelash http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...hlight=eyelash Regards David |

Here are another examples. The eye lash is a mark of quality often associated with fine European swords.
