Moro Panabas -- serious chopper

Here is a beautiful old 19th Century panabas axe of superb quality. The weapon is 29in. overall with a thick, heavy pattern welded damascus blade of 16in. The blade features brass inserts on one side, designs to the spine, and a interesting piercing at the top of the blade's end.

Description from CharlesS, one of my favorite sources. Can't say enough good things about this guy, but don't want to run afoul of Forum Rules on advertising in the main Forum. This is not my intention. PM me and I'll say more.

Lovely, simply lovely.

That's a beautiful piece....I'm especially taken with the filework (jimping?) and the brass inlaying combined with the lack of a metal ferule.
The hilt, of course, looks far newer than the blade.
