The blade is quite similar to one pictured on pg. 55 fig. 31 of Tirri's book.
Given as "Taureg", a "Tarda" ....... :shrug:

I think it is African for sure. As Rick suggests the north of the continent. I have this one of very similar design. The difference is this one has a bamboo type halft. The blade has a midrib, there is also a wrap of metal at the other end. The rounded base of the blade has not been ground? as in your spear. I have reason to believe my spear is from N. Sudan and lands east to Somalia.

I think that wood is not origin.

I cannot see from your picture but the swelling of the halft around the centre might suggest that it was made for the blade. To get a good grip.
