Miniature Crete knife ?

3 Attachment(s)
These are very realistic ,proportional and almost functional antique miniatures.. A Crete knife with no doubt, a mortar pestle I guess, a hammer, a knife sharpener? with stone which has signs of wear of use , and a tool with needle like pointed but strong tip.All have beautifully worked bone or ivory grips. If these are just miniature models of tools, do they symbolize something definite altogether? Eftihis you have any idea ? Knife is 7 cms

The outside of the mortar and pestle(?) is it covered with wax or a waxy substance?

Lovley things! One can see the blood vessels in the handals, So they are bone handals.

Hi, i have never seen something like that, but for sure there is no symbolism. The tool with the needle type tip looks like a tool of a leather worker or shoes repairing tool.

To me these all look like miniature leather working tools . :)

Thanks to all replies. Mortar pestle.. It writes so in my cyber dictionary, for the tool which is used to crush material in mortar. Is it called something else? :)
And the cylinder, which I assume a miniature knife grinder. Yes it has wax, to imitate grinding stone I guess. I will continue to expect further opinions about these babies.

Leather Tools

Hello Erlikhan,
I believe the miniature waxed cylinder may be for waxing thread to facilitate easier passage through leather.
I showed these pieces to my Wife who is a garment maker and she concurs that the small pillar like object (which you refer to as a mortar or pestle) is in fact a seam tamper which was used in conjunction with the small hammer to flatten a seam after it has been glued and sewn. The awl of course is to pierce the leather for the sewing needle. :)
