Found in a West Virginia coal mine 30 years ago. 13.5" long. The head looks Kalinga to me, but your guess is as good as mine as to what this is. I have never seen anything like it.

Some kind of spear head.

Comments sought.

You found it! What more does the book say about it?

It could be a family urban legend. Maybe her father was joking, but he was a coal miner in West Virginia.

From the avatar you can now see why I was wearing sunglasses with the helmet! :D

It is actually the ball part of the leg / hip joint. Tibetan monk, possibly Nepalese. I showed it to my chiropracter, who confirmed that it was from a human being.

Hi Ben,

This does not indicate great age. Does the book consider this piece to be made in 1985 or earlier?

My continuiing thanks,
Bill

The piece in the books is from 1900

Ben
