Dear members,

This axe comes from a museum collection and has no provenance. It's definitely from Africa, but does anyone know exactly where and when? Kuba/Congo?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Hello Peter,

I think it's an axe from the Toma or Mandingo tribes.

Regards,
Detlef

I agree with Detlef, below is a link to a previous post on this forum showing a few other examples of Toma axes.
