Another mid 20th Century Indian Kukri?

Picked up by my Uncle when in the Himalayas in the late 1970s. Handle seems to be bone? Looks fairly crude. Is this another North Indian made kukri?

At first glance I thought the grip was horn; is it confirmed to be bone?

Handle is 110 mm, blade 290 mm.

Yes, you are right, it is horn - not bone, my error - I’ll ask my Dad if he knows what type.

Could be polished stag. They made them looking like that. I prefer is unpolished.
