Talibon variant
2 Attachment(s)
Greetings folks. Here are pics of a tailbon variant that just ended. The blade is typical tailbon/garab shape, but the wood hilt with bronze fittings is different.

Nice sword Jose. Is it coming to live with you?
I agree with Xastrix that this is likely WWII vintage for the reasons he stated. A few other features that suggest WWII or later include the following. The thickness of the blade at the hilt is less than the shorter, older forms and there is no scooped out, small area of the spine adjacent to the hilt that might be used as a thumb rest. Also, the spine of the blade is not concave and the hilt does not tilt down much relative to the spine, both of which are commonly seen on older garab examples. |
Oh I wish it were coming to me. I like it though, and I agree - around WW2 but nicely made.
