Good morning, I have a Katar in my collection that has what appears to be Hindi script on the blade. I was hoping someone might be able to translate this text for me. Cheers Cathey

Cathey, I cannot help with a translation but thst is a very lovely katar with an unusual blade. The gold work is well preserved.

This katar is from city of Bundi in Rajasthan, most probably 19th century.
For similar example please see a Katar in MET museum:
https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/31504

Inscriptions on Bundi Katars are made normally in a local dialect and are almost impossible to translate - I wish you good luck finding a translator!

Agree it is most likely from Bundi

Hi Guys, yes Runjeet Singh also suggested it is very like the example in the Met. Cheers Cathey
