I’m researching this item and would love some opinions

It looked black in the seller’s photos, but in bright light it seems to be silver with a lot of patina. About 4.5 inches in height. And I’m a sucker for a nice stand.

I’ve found a couple of rattles from Java that are similar in style but smaller and gold.
examples in the Yale University Art Gallery, accession number 2008.21.90 and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, object number 2004.2231, a 14th century example can be seen at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 1995.569.2

And a few masks from the same time period that are bigger.

And the Kala from the Norton Simon Museum (attached pic coming) has a similar patina.

Thoughts on use, age? Big rattle vs small mask? Or decorative piece from something else?
