Hello all, New here so hope i get it right. some of my knives have got me stumped on information so here we are.
I am looking for information regarding this split Pesh Kabz, i have never seen another. The damascening is on cross hatch as traditional and the knife is well made and fits together very well.
Cheers and look forward to replys.

Hi Shane,

That's a nice decorative pair. Double knives are found in various cultures. Some have interlocking hilts, similar to what you show, while others have two separate knives. If you search the Forum for double knives, you will find other examples. One place to start is this thread, http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=29636, which shows several with interlocking hilts.

I'll admit not seen this before from India.

Would this be a hunting pesh?

Hello Jose,

I think the only purpose will be to sell it to tourists and collectors. My personal guess. ;)

I agree Detlef. This is a decorative piece. I note a number of Persian motifs on the blade (e.g. a lion taking down a beast, etc.). I guess one might call it Indo-Persian.

Howdy Guys
I agree it is likley decorative Though i have not seen one similar and it does have some age to it. The damascene is done the proper way with crosshatching. I am mainly trying to find where made and why go to so much trouble to make. Also can anyone decipher the inscriptions on the inside ?
I have had it for 30 years. I originally thoight tourist item but as ive never seen another i felt there must be another purpose.
Cheers Shane
