Hello Slimsticker,

It seems to be indeed a pedang blade, now, when you have shown the complete blade it looks like a pedang blade. We don't discuss values here, read the forum rules. But of course such a blade is valuable. Why do you want to put a handle to the blade which doesn't belong there?? I would rather look for a pedang handle to complete it again. The blade I would guess is from the end of the 19th to early 20th century and coming most probably from Lombok IMHO. Scabbard could be a later replacement.

Regards,
Detlef

Well, if you are able to place a French style saber handle on this in a manner that is completely reversible you will not ruin any value. But the question is, why would you not seek out the proper hilt for it instead, thereby adding to the sword's over all value.

I'm not opposed to putting the original style handle back i just don't know where to begin.

Hello Slimsticker,

Just use the search function here with the keyword "pedang" and you will find several examples you can start with! ;)
