Unusual Palmwood Spears

Hi All,

I picked up these two spears at the weekend in clearance auction.

They are made of Palm wood, I think, and one end on each one is wrapped in iron.

They are not exactly the same nor are they symmetrical with overall length of 180 and 175 cm

lovely balance to them, comfortably heavy and feel good in the hand.

There is Japanese/Chinese symbol on one of them which might translate to Metal or Gold.

Anyone any idea on what I have?

Regards

Ken

This might seem a bit weird but they do not look like weapons. I wonder could they be ice picks for ice hole fishing. Though why have a double end?

You might be correct Tim,
I wondered if they might be some sort of martial art training fighting clubs?
I genuinely have no idea, cost a meal for 2 so I took a punt and they definitely have good age to them.
Thanks for interest,
Ken
