Identification for Sulawesi sword

3 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I continue on my impulse on the Sulawesi swords with this specimen which I do not know what to name. (I still have a recently acquired Penai but I haven't been able to take pictures yet).

The handle is in Buffalo horn with long hair (horse? Human?), The scabbard (unfortunately damaged, the base has been restored with a bad shape) is similar to that of the Penai and Sumara.
Does anyone know which region of Sulawesi this saber comes from?

Hello Séverin,
It's a penai, see the upper one at the attached picture (Michael Marlow) and his statement in the Sumara thread:
"The one with hair is also a Penai. They changed the top of the hilt depending on what use they had in mind (war, rituals etc.). Unlike for the mandau it seems that it always is human hair on these Penai."
This is what Michael teached me. ;)

Regards,
Detlef
