Got this rather nice piece from a car boot sale along with a kukri, both for under £20 ( pays to get up early on Sundays ;) .The sword I think is of good manufacture and has a date or armours mark near the hilt. The blade is marked with the eye lash and tri dot grouping. Usual queastions, Where? and when? Overall length 84cm, blade 76cm, 26cm false edge. The weapon came with its black leather scabbard. The bottom picture shows another old warhorse, can someone tell me where this type of flatter quillons originates or is the style common right across India? Thanks

Beautiful handle! I tried to wake up early on Sundays, but nothing came out of it. Since we do not have "car boot" sales, I stayed in bed and read a book, but no good swords came to me that way. Strange.... Maybe, your way works only in England? :D
And the Afghani axe is very, very pretty! |
The tulwar in the first pic looks like a real deal, for under 20 GBP thats a steal! The tulwar in the last pic however, seems to be of muntion grade.

Thats the way to do it!!!!

Get to the A3 Tim. Best Boot sale around :)

Wow! I love that handle Andy! what an excelent find! & a bargain price to!
That mark looks familar, Ive seen it before more than once I think but not sure where its from. I expect someone here will know! I think Ive seen it sold as a Jaipur mark when the other way up? But that was just at a local shop so might mean nothing. Spiral |

With all due respect SenSei, that afgan axe is a repro... I also bought a couple of them and they turned out to be repros....
Sorry for dissapointing you Andy :o Nice tulwar thou :) |
I have fallen for the repro Indian axe before as well and not cheap. There seems to be a good many around and an axe is much more easily made.

I knew the axe was a repro, I got it very cheap, so no problem-I just like the look. It will do until I find a real one at a car boot sale :)
