A pair of keris with highly stylized pamor
2 Attachment(s)
This is another pair I was curious to know more about. One has a highly stylized pamor and the other is rather smaller and not so flashy.

Both blades exhibit dhapur tilam upih.
The smaller keris may be just out of stain; it apparently has lost some substance due to age/erosion. The larger one seems to be quite decent: the pamor family is mlumah (i.e. horizontal layers) and would be considered a random pattern. Regards, Kai |
You are quite sure about those dhapur nominations Kai?
|
I don't think tilam upih is ever wavy, is it?
|
Ouch, that was a no-brainer, sorry. Thanks, Alan!
13 luk, pejetan, and tikel alis: Make that out of pakem keraton Surakarta for the longer piece, I guess. Regards, Kai |
Yeah, I think so.
But it could well be within pakem somewhere else. The little one I'm not real sure of either, it looks like it might have a tikel alis, but its not real clear on my monitor. |
